applescript help

first off let me say that i hate applescript it's not like a normal programming language so i having a heck of a time understanding it's "english" logic.

i am trying to write a script that will automatically connect to a wireless network on [standby-resume and start-up] and i having a heck of a time.

all i can get to work, is getting the current network:

set networkName to the network name of Airport configuration 1

[code]


but i can't set it, anyone know how to do this?
