Connect old imac and new imac via internet

hi folks,

i just bought a neat little imac g3 (b&w) for 15 bucks and i want to use it as a business machine for doing tasks like faxing and occasional surfing the web and handling documents.

I would like to be able to control that one from my home office via the internet and was wondering on how to do this. I have Mac OS 9.2.2 on there, since it runs fast and is adequate - i rather not put Jaguar or even Panther on it (small Hd and Ram)

My mac at home is supposed to 'control' the old one ... i basically just need Hd access - but it would also be great to shut it down or have it eexecute fax services from home.

Does Appletalk or Apple Remote Desktop work like that? and does it work with my setup? What kind of versions do I need for the software to run correclty? I looked for VNC and VPN clients/servers, but don't exactly know what to get for what .....

Maybe someone has a similar setup or has more experience with this and could enlighten me a little with this?

Thanks a bunch :-D

edit:
ha, figured it out myself .... i am using server and client of VNC (virtual network computing) software to connect both .... works like a charm, although it is not too easy possible to drag n drop files .... iguess for that i could always setup ftp access though
