E-MAIL program for G3
My wife has a G3 running 9.9.2 she's trying to give away. I think that she erased Eudora which she was using for e-mail. Is there an e-mail program that I can download to run on this mac that won't cost me anything, other than using hotmail, etc?

i would say the OS is too outdated to get anything decent, you might want to think about Linux, get Ubuntu for PPC and install it (maybe YDL), then you can run Thunderbird and Firefox, it should be fine for most people, i think learning to use Ubuntu for light stuff like that is going to be just about the same for someone who is new to Macs (especially OS9), as for speed, Linux will handle it just as good as OS 9, but you may need to bump down the settings

you could, but OS X is pretty slow on old hardware, especially stuff under 600Mhz, and those machines need a lot of RAM to be useful, so it depends on the CPU speed, but a lot of the G3s are just too slow to run OS X

and the OP also said they have OS9 and want to give it away, which i would say means that they probably don't have an extra copy of OS X and are not willing to purchase one
