Yes

You can use the ftp client from the terminal window.

You can also use a ftp client by entering ftp:// in the Connect to Server menu option in the finder (in the Go Menu. Also, Cmd-K).

...or you can download Fetch, which is a nice FTP client and has a GUI, unlike the command line.

I believe Mac OS X Server also has some more advanced FTP features if you are in the position where you want more.

FTP Program on a mac

In it's most basic form the finder is an FTP program in it's self.
Just like on windows system you can slap the url to an ftp site in any window and it'll open.

Try doing apple-k or go to the "GO" menu in the finder and punching in something like ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/
hit the connect button and hey presto you're FTPing.
You need FTP programs to perform more complex ftp comand and functions however. such as changing the method of transfer (passive or non passive etc)

Theres a nice little app called TRANSMIT which is built for OSX that i liked. However i never found a mac ftp prog that does Auth'd SSL
If anyone else can shine a light on that i'd be interested to know

It would seem that Transmit can...

In the protocol menu, one can select FTP with Implicit SSL. Of course, the FTP server you are communicating with must support such connections.

Your options:

Fetch - http://fetchsoftworks.com/
Transmit - http://panic.com/
Or the built in: Go -> Connect to server

I personally use Transmit the most. Transmit does support Implicit SSL and TLS/SSL

You mean it'll just stop working someday?

Man, Cyberduck seems more like a person than a piece of computer software.
Maybe something happened to your system that caused it to stop working?
How long did it work for?
