Unhappy Hard drive needs minor repair -broke boot cd

I have an ibook processor 1.07 ghz powerpc g4 512 ddr sdram running
os x 10.4.4 version

I have some questions 1) what does it mean when it says in the console log "best calenderdate from string-can't interpret"

and 2) I ran disk utility and it came up with " volume bitmap needs minor repair, invalid volume free block count, it should be 1535054, its 1534490"

my baby got a hold of my boot cd and chewed on it then broke it in several places. I do have a usb external hard drive and I tried to put an os and disk utility on it then discovered it wont let me use that as a start up disk.

please help me fix my mac before it gets more issues......I read somewhere that the g4 series are known for bugs and logic board issues. I don't know if apple would fix unless there has been a recall anyone know more???

I found a great freeware that enables you to fix your hard drive without a boot disk by starting up in single user mode with a terminal comand prompt screen

I'm all fixed now
