Angry Keyboard Spillage :\

Last night I knocked my cup of tea over with my right hand when using the mouse, spilling a very small amount onto the number keys. Well I remember seeing an ad for a book of everyday problem solutions, one was keyboard spillages. They used a hairdryer, so I unplugged the keyboard and used a hairdryer on it, but I think it just made the tea dry and I just read on a site that that's not good. Well the keys work except the spacebar, so I unplugged it and left it overnight but it still doesn't work. I heard that I can unplug it, submerge it in water, then leave it to dry, but I don't know if it'll screw it up even more. Help??

I've heard this can work, but if there's only a few keys affected, its probably easier to clean the gunked up ones. What you want to do is to clean tea residue off the contacts. Open up your keyboard (upside down), and use a damp soft cloth to wipe off any gunk.

Keyboards tend to be pretty sturdy things

Keyboards are cheap - fried USB ports are not - I'd consider replacement if its bad.
