Mac 9.1 Running Photoshop CS3

My friend got this really cheap laptop, I don't know a thing about Macs, but from what I figured out its Mac 9.1, has almost 9gb free space, and 64mbs of ram.

He wants to install Photoshop CS3 on it, but what I am wondering is, does the photoshop cs3 install I used on windows, work on the mac? Or is there a different version of Photoshop CS3 for Macs?

Now my other question is can the laptop with only 64mb of ram handle it? Its alright if its real laggy, as long as it runs...

Thank you.

CS3 will never run on that machine or that OS.
CS3 needs at least OSX 10.4 and 1GB of RAM.

Your Windows version of CS3 will not run on a MAC
Adobe sell PC and MAC versions separately.

Photoshop 6 and 7, Illustrator 10, Indesign 1.0, Dreamweaver MX
& Flash MX should all work on OS9.

Thanks a lot =D, do you think or know if adobe still sells version 7 for mac? I can't really figure out how to navigate their website at all haha.

One last question, what format are mac installers in, or what format do they appear in windows as?

Mac installers generally come in the form of .dmg files which are image files. For example you make an image file of a CD. On a mac, when you click the image it file it mounts and then you have access to the actual installer. .exe's will not run on a mac unless you have cross over or some program in order to run .exes.

a .dmg will still show up on a pc but you will need virtual emulation in order to run it. Nonetheless mac software cannot be installed on a pc.
