Hmm.. I wouldn't have thought it was anywhere near that much. I think it's an exaggeration (slashdot isn't known for its accurate reporting ).

I think these figures are more accurate:
Macs owned by 10% of businesses
Macs used by 8-12% of home users.

What I would be VERY interested in, is the increase in usage numbers post-OSX. Many mac users I know have only bought macs because they fell in love with OSX.

I agree, personally I'm not a huge fan of the original Mac OS. Not that it's without its charms . I've really come to the Mac with OSX and I have to admit it's what enticed me to make the leap .

I'm sure other users feel the same as Simon said (no pun intended ).
