Are we talking about Mac OS X here or the original Mac OS? Have you tried changing the URL to point to the new filename to see if that works? You should also try another browser since there could be a problem with IE.

I don’t know why the file would have been renamed; a file name can't be changed once its been written to the CD so it is possible that the problem is coming from elsewhere. Does the CD work on your other target OS?

Hope this helps,

Mark.

Hi, Sorry for the slow response I've been a little busy this past week.

Anyway, as you've said Safari will open the folder which contains the application rather than running application itself. This is for security more than anything else because it's not a good idea to give the browser the ability to run programs on the the client machine – this is just asking for trouble since a virus (or other harmful program) could easily be triggered in this way .

I wouldn't even attempt to alter this behavior for this reason. In fact I would probably copy this behavior on each OS.

Don't worry too much about IE on OSX since most users will be using Safari anyway. That said it should be possible to use Javascript to detect the browser that the users using if you wish to accommodate for different browsers and platforms that way .

Hope this helps,

Mark.
