Silencing the startup chime
Does anyone know how to silence the startup sound/chime on a Powerbook with OS 10.2.8?
Thanks. |

This probably isn't what your looking for but if you mute the sound before turning of your computer then you shouldn't get the startup sound; with my iBook anyway.

muting the sound works. I know its a complete non-technical response, but it's simple and effective without messing with anything...

Not to disagree...
Not to disagree... but I made sure the sound was muted, as I normally have it muted anyway, but when I restarted the computer, the chime still sounded loud and clear.
Any thoughts? |
