The new Imac

linky

Cool or what?

Dropped in price, now with an isight camera built in, even thinner, slightly more powerful, with a cool remote control and media center program. Oh and some other cool features. Oh and it comes with a mightymouse too

Sexy and functional, methinks so anyway

Anyone else?

(I'm getting the 20" model after christmas)

Nice, but I'm holding off for any new apple (computers anyway) until the Intel line kicks in.

Don't bother. I refuse to have a DRMed box so it counts me out. If apple decided you shouldnt be able to use your computer any more, one command could render your system unbootable. (no reinstallation will fix it either)

I've heard rumers that they wont be using DRM but rather Intel is making a Socket that they only sell to Apple. Sounds pretty cool to me.

If that's true then its cool, but the developer machines were DRM so I reckon its whats coming.

It got me excited. Actaully, the possiblility of them adding the remote functionality to the Mac Mini got me excited. The second that happens... I'm getting one to use as a DVD player/music server/etc under my TV.

Two problems with that.
1. DRM is already confirmed, and is in use in the developer boxes.
2. A special socket won't do anything. A pentium 4 x86 is just that, the arcitecture will remain the same. Maybe a special chipset, or special processor with a special CPU extention might be what they need.
