dito.

I hope Dashboard will enable all us softcore programmers to make "standalone" apps.
I run a lot of stuff locally on my browser, that I'd rather have small apps for, like perl scripts to keep track of hours, or money spent.
I think Automator should be great too, it's just too much of a hassle right now to schedule a backup or somesuch, who needs a million pieces of shareware anyway, right?

I do feel a bit cheated that iLife isn't included though.

Maybe you're right, but I don't think Apple gave away their software earlier, they just payed development from machine sales.
If you look at some numbers, I think that software sales is becoming the 2nd source of profit for apple, after the ipod.

I liked it better when I payed for most software in the machine, because you would get complete functionality, I suppose they changed it to lower costs of machines to attract switchers who then will also buy the software.

I'm not bothered by it, just sayin.

Personally I'm looking forward to spotlight. Particually, intergrating it with my own Apps & tools. Other than that Automator and Dashboard are top on my list like everyone else .

Looks very nice anyway! I do wish they would remove the flat Matt finish from the Apple in the menu and use a different font for the X. It just looks sick to me but I can't complain too much .

Take care,

Mark.

Same deal, nearly. The delivery guy gave my package to a neighbor so I only got it yesterday. I've been playing around with it and so far I gets 9/10 from me . The only thing I'm a little miffed about is that Apple is still using Apache 1.3 when I really wanted Apache 2.x .

Love it,

Mark.
