Anti-spam solution for Cobalt system
Hi,
I'm running a Cobalt RAQ4 system (Linux), and installed SpamAssassin ( www.spamassassin.org), but had trouble running the test app 'spamassassin -t', due to some incompatibility with the File::Specs module.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what other alternatives can be implemented, which will actually work on a Cobalt RAQ4 system?
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ralph

Provide more details of your problem, including exact copies of error messages.
You might want to try searching the web for those who have had the same problem. If you've already tried this, then tell us what you've tried, and whether or not it worked.

Alex,
Thanks for the reply :-)
I'm getting this error when trying to run: spamassassin -t < sample-nonspam.txt > nonspam.out
Can't locate object method "splitpath" via package "File::Spec" at /usr/bin/spamassassin line 20.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/spamassassin line 50.
It looks like File::Spec module is old or something... Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ralph

Hi,
I updated the Perl modules and now it's throwing this error instead:
Can't use subscript on split at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/Mail/SpamAssassin.pm line 100, near "1]"
So it looks like there's something wrong with SpamAssassin itself. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ralph

There are several 3rd party anti spam solutions including mcaffee (webshield (linux is its OS)and norton which make devices that will do cut through proxy on SMTP and scan for viruses and block spam by joining ORDB and such before sending it on to your mail server.
