Question Automatic reply with MS Exch 5.5

Guys,

I'm looking for help regarding two things.

The background:

We have a exchange 5.5 on a 2k server. On this server there resides two accounts of importance. Let's call these accounts support and autoreply. Support is a public folder
with a support@ mail address linked to it, autoreply is a standard mail account.

When someone mails to support@, an automated reply is sent back from the autoreply address.

I've been given the task of finding out how our previous admin set this up, but so far I haven't found anything that links these two accounts together. I've logged on as the autoreply user and checked its active rules from outlook, nothing there. Now, does anyone have any idea of where rules and functionality of this kind could reside, because I am completely lost.

If I don't find it anywhere, I'm planning on completely removing the autoreply account and mail address and recreating the autoreply mail account. However this leads me to pretty much the same problem - how can I get the autoreply account to answer on mails sent to the support inbox? I'd be grateful for any ideas or input.

Right. I solved this problem myself, just wanted to share how one creates autoreply-rules directly on the exchange server for other interested parties.

Create a public folder with an email address linked to it and make sure you have full access to it. Then go to properties for that folder -> administration -> folder assistant -> add rule. In the Sent to field, enter the email address that is linked to the public folder, and tick in the Reply With box, creating and saving the template linked to this function.
