Can ISP block your outgoing emails

Hi,

I have two ISP "Rogrer" and "Bell". Both block my port 25 . I noticed it does not make much difference. I noticed on Rogers I can send emails fine with out any problem with blocked port 25 . But on "Bell" they keep going to my Queue.

Sometime not always I see following error in the event viewer

"Message delivery to the remote domain 'yahoo.com' failed for the following reason: The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt."

I have exactly same settings on both. I was wondering other than blocking port 25, is there any other way your ISP can affect your emails and your emails don't go..

Thanks

Exclamation

I am sure that they are denying outoing 25 port connection from your IP. This is only way to stop outgoing mail from a IP address for ISP (I think so).

I don't know if you need help to bypass this firewall and want to send mail outside. If you want to, use your ISP smtp server to send mail outside. Configure your MTA (Mail Server) to forward all outoing mail to your ISP's SMTP server, They will take care of all outbound delevery of your mails.

Anyway, which MTA are you using in your mailserver ?

Oh, I found your difference. ISP Rogers may blocked your incomming 25 Port and Open outgoing 25 port or they redirect all outing 25 port to their SMTP Server. But ISP Bell didn't do any redirect, they just BLOCK your outbound 25 Port connectivity ...
