Cannot receive email but can send
Really hoping someone can help here ..
I had been having some issues with inconsistent DNS resolution and discovered that the glue records on the tld servers were wrong. I corrected those and made a couple of minor changes to my bind config like adding recursion no; and allow-query { any; }; .. now, for whatever reason (and truthfully I am not even sure they are related) I can send email but I am not receiving it. My server is running RH 7.3 and qpopper 4.05 standalone and sendmail 8.12.9. Any help as to where I can begin to correct this problem .. which has become quite major? I am receiving no errors that I can tell and my DNS seems to be fine. It seems like a qpopper issue but can't find any errors relating to it. If anyone can help, let me know if you need more info. Cheers Dave |

If by "cannot receive mail" you mean mail is not flowing via SMTP to your mail transport agent (qpopper in this case.) Then check your MX records. If the rest of the world cannot resolve your MX records, or cannot resolve the hosts and IPs your MX records declare, you'd see this symptom.
Email me (click my member name) your domain name and I can look at your MX records if you don't have anyone else off of your networks who can check. -c |
