Does this exist?
Does anyone know of a system or open source project that handles dispatching email that comes into a general mail box.
Scenario: My client generates many many leads from online marketing campaigns but he has a problem with his sales manager not dispursing leads evenly, he would like all the leads to come into a central system then be able to assign them at will as he sees fit. He does not want to simply forward the email leads to the sales people, he would rather log in to a system, look at the sales inbox, and assign leads to sales people by entering a number or checking a box, then send them all out at once. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Eric |

I'm not aware of any pre-written systems that do this (that doesn't mean that they don't exist, just that you'll have to do a bit of searching on Freshmeat.net to find one).
However, it's easy to write a program to capture incoming emails and run them through a program. This program could store them in a database, which would allow the email to then be assigned to someone via an admin tool. If you can't an open-source project like this, try posting in the "Hire a Programmer" forum.
