Hello. We have a mail server running, where we would like to change the SMTP port to 587 to avoid the blocking of port 25 on external networks. It is a Mercur Messaging 2005 by Atrium Software, which is no longer in business, so I am trying to figure out how it works.
There is a setting for "internal SMTP port" and "external SMTP port" which led me to believe I could use both, set internal to 25 and external to 587. However, the external post is not active, not listening (as seen through netstat). Does anyone have any experience with this mail server application?
If I set the internal to 587 I will not be able to recieve mails, as they send on port 25. Does anybody knows what to do to make it work (send via 587 and recieve on 25)?
