external send/receive probs with x2003
HI, im relatively new to exchange server. Ive set it up and can send and receive internally.
I get no errors in outlook when sending externally. router ports have been forwarded. ISP does not block any ports I monitored the traffic during a send and it is sending to a hotmail IP. so i believe dns is fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thx

So what exactly is the problem? You can send externally or not? Hotmail send was successful?
Try a telnet to your exchange server on port 25 and post the response of an ehlo ie* cmd> telnet servername 25 Should return a 'ready' response, then try cmd>ehlo Post the output of that command here.

Hi, did you get this resolved. I am having similar problems but only with sending to my unix mail server. I have no problems receiving from the Unix mail server.
No problems sending or receiving externally either.. Thanks. Quote:
