Free Mail Server on Linux?
Hi
this may sound stupid but is their a free mailserver on linux? there'll be a setup with say 10 pcs all came with windows xp. I want to use a linux box for email, so anyone can move between the 10 machines and have access to their mail (inbox, sent folder, calendar, etc. all stored on the server like at my work on Lotus Notes) ... this seems really stupid but is this what a mail server does? I mean it's not just sending mail (smtp) and recieving (pop), it stores everyone's email giving them "roaming access" ? thanks |

Sounds like you have the idea. Here's a good howto for setting up a mailserver. And yes, most of them are free. All the stuff in this howto is free.
