Wanna GMAIL acct? I got a couple of Invites...that is one answer to your Free email needs What are you trying to accomplish? If you are using a ISP that doesn't offer email then shame on you, unless they are the ONLY game in town. If you are trying to set up your own Email Server, you really don't need to involve your ISP. Even if they block PORT 25 ( normally port for email) you can find work arounds. Check your no-ip.com and see if they are what you are looking for. hth...Frog

You could either register for a free email solutions i.e. hotmail etc. Or you could host your own, I have recently gone down this route, thought it would be hard but its really simple. I am on a broadband connection with a dynamic IP but this hasn't changed since I have had this connection (nearly a year, I have spoken to my ISP and they said as long as I stay connected via the same hardware the IP will not change) So what I did was go to www.godaddy.com and register a .info domain for less than $2.00, I then went to managed the domain and put in the ip address of my machine and inserted the records I have bind working on my machine, its free, and devshed forums have a brilliant tutorial on there DNS board to help you set it up, then you go to mailenable.com and download their standard edition (free) and install it. If you need any more help ask |
