Issue connecting to mailserver
Hi,
I have an email address - say civ247@blah.com I can access this no problem online. However for the first time ever i have tried to use a mail client - Thunderbird to connect to this account with IMAP. I also tried this with Kmail and get the same issue so the problem seems to be me. I get asked for various info: name: civ247 email: civ247@blah.com pop/IMAP -> i chose IMAP Incoming server: mail.blah.com (this works with roundcube) Incoming mail username: civ247 Once this is done i can click "Get Mail" at which point it asks for a password for civ247@mail.blah.com. The connection to the server seems to work but authentication fails - I assume because civ247@mail.blah.com is not the correct email address - civ247@blah.com is. Changing the server to just blah.com results in a connection error. - Can someone explain how this works to me and where im going wrong? Many thanks, Civ. |

You need to obtain the correct authentication credentials from your email provider. You need username/password to access any mailbox, and you may need username/password to enable sending mail.

Why not contact the provider for blah.com?
