I had to contact MSN support for them to correct this problem. It has something to do with their new spam filter system as far as Im aware, at least in my case it was. I spent ages messing with all this bs on my server for nothing, contacted msn whom actually replied and they got me to send emails to a few test emails and log reports of the errors and they some how corrected the problem.

Hi,

How did you contact MSN?

Your help is much appreciated,

Has anyone gotten the contact information at this point?

I'm running a qmail machine and yup, I've got the same problems. I thought it was DNS related at first as well, but apparently it's not.

I've got over 100,000 emails in my queue that hotmail is deferring, so if someone could get me the contact info, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

It's been a few days since your original post, does everything
still appear to be running smoothly at this point on your machine?

It started to work again for a few days, then stopped again. Just continue to hound that MSN support form, you should get a personalized response from someone and they'll give you their hotmail email to continue communications. (obviously dont use an email on the server you're having problems with) The person who'll reply is nothing but a desk monkey who will only ask you to send test emails to some filtering hotmail addresses, which obviously doesnt work!

I sent the test emails as they suggested, and was replied to with "we didnt get your emails, can you try again" ... I was like DUH, you moron that's the whole point of me contacting you. They really are that stupid, so be patient and you might get some help but the only answer I got was that it might be getting filtered as junk mail. If that was the case the mail would be in the junk mail folder which it is not so it's obvioulsy not the problem.

Their junk mail filtering system is just crap, and doesnt know what's junk mail and what isnt. The only thing I can suggest really is to get everyone you know who is also experiencing these issues and report it repeatidly until you get a response. The more people who complain about the same issue, the more likely something will be done about. Also mention that their is a long thread on the devshed.com forums showing that alot of people besides yourself are having these issues.

I will keep you informed if I hear any more information. I basically told the contact whom replied to me to forward my email to someone who actually knows something. Hopefully he wasnt too offended and hooks me up with someone who actually has a functioning brain.

Exclamation

Same problem here... I cannot send to Hotmail or msn accounts BUT I can reply to msg sent to my server. Thanks to all of you for sharing
but NOW we need to step up and organize ourselves!

To BUJO -> Could you PLEASE post the email address or other contact info of your Microsoft dude in this forum ? ( I mean the guy with a brain )

I sent a couple of request through their Support system without getting ANY answers / reply. I am questionning now if any HTTP request from any web client get to them

You have to use the contact form because it assigns you with a tracking ID in order for them to keep up with your question. Only thing I can suggest is to keep trying...

Post Further information leading to hotmail rejecting emails

Check this thread:

URL

In short hotmail is rejecting mails based on content filtering and weighting formula by both IP / domain and hotmail user previous actions.

Hope this help. Please continue to feed this thread though

The response I got from the guys at hotmail was:

for some reason my server's emails are being filtered but they can not tell me how their system works so they can't help.

Not much use... I guess I'll just try talking to a different technician.

On a side note, he seemed to be aware of that fact that others were having this problem... Obviously no action is being taken at this time... (this is very bad for business)

Here's something interesting I found out. If you include the string "http://join.msn.com" anywhere in the body of your email it will bypass all the filters and be delivered every time. Their stupid system thinks you are replying to an email sent to you by a hotmail user and lets you through all the filters. =)

Pretty bogus but I've added this to many outgoing emails where appropriate, for now, until a better solution is found. I figure, if I'm sending email to a hotmail or msn user who cares if there's a link way at the bottom to msn. They probably think it was added by hotmail or msn anyway lol.
