Hi,
I had to rebuild my qmail server on a new machine , and now have a bunch of retained messages under /home/vpopmail/domains.... on the older machine. How can I export these messages from the directory tree on the old machine, and re-import them in the same place on the new machine? I appreciate that it's not a simple as copying the files across, but there must be some way to allow me to save this info. Many thanks for any ideas on this. Jon |

He he... actually (once upon a time) I just copied them across over NFS and it worked fine. You just need to change their ownerships so they are owned by the vpopmail user and vchkpw group. Don't get any of the stuff in tmp... just new and cur.

Fantastic. That worked a treat.
I think I tried this before, but did not change the ownership. That was the gem in your mail. |
