Port 20000 stoped responding
Dear All,
I have centos 5 and webmin the latest version in our server. I used to use port 20000 to access usermin to read my emails but after run yum update command it work only for 1 day then it stopped working. When I try to connect to https://myserver.com:20000 it keeps running never i get login page. I will appreciate if any one know how to fix that kind of problem. Thanks in advance Arif_amin |

Make sure your mailserver is up and running. Beyond that you'll need to find out what's wrong with whatever app you're running on port 20000 and then fix it.

Thanks a lot for reply. The Mail server is running fine I can send and receive email as normal. I don't run any other application on port 20000 it is only for usermin. How I should know what is wrong on port 20000, is there any log file or place we can trace ports? Thanks |

Verify that usermin is up and running. It may have been stopped due to a reboot or even accidentally. If it is stopped, then you need to set it to start on reboot. Can you access Webmin still, or is that one down as well? You may be able to open Webmin and see if Usermin is stopped or running. If stopped, you should be able to start it from within Webmin. |

Webmin is running fine I can login to it as normal. When I login to Webmin then I go to usermin configuration there is a button "Start Usermin" any time I click it nothing happens. |

After you click Start Usermin, do you try to make sure Usermin is still not working? You may need to just reinstall Usermin. It seems as though the problems may have been caused by yum, so something may have been overwritten that shouldn't have been. |

I don't even know what is a usermin, but also check your firewall settings and make sure the update didn't somehow block the port. Also if you're using selinux you might check there too.
