port 25, 53 and router
Hi,
i am using a router between my server and DSL modem. I have done port forwarding for port 80, 25 and 53. When I do scan for port it says port 80 is open but no existnace of port 25, and for 53 closed. I wa nt to open port 25 and 53 so that i could email people from my sever. When i use modem diecet my emails go fine, meaning port are not blocked by my ISP it has something to do with the router. Your help will be apreciated. Thanks

this is just a wild stab at your problem since you didnt give any information about your router, operating system or anything. Enable udp,tcp on those ports, add them in on a seperate line if you can add custom port openings.

Just because you can send emails doesn't mean that port 25 isn't blocked by your ISP. I'd check with them that they allow you to host your own mail servers.

I guess you meant ISP not ASP!
