Problem using eudora/outlook with squid.

I setup a samba domain controller and a squid proxy. The squid have 2 NICs, 1 for internal and the other 1 goes out to the internet. Our email is being hosted by our ISP. Clients connected to the network can surf the internet using HTTP or HTTPS, but cannot retrieve email using eudora or outlook

Do I have to setup qmail or sendmail, fetchmail or any MTA so we can retrieve and send emails? im a newbie on linux and squid, please help.

thanks in advance.
