qmail not sending, or maybe receiving

I'm fairly new to *nix and qmail. about 2 days ago the mail server had some issues and now will not send or receive mail. I at least know for sure that it will not send..

At one point there was one error about a temp dir. I change some perms on that it that error went away but still no email.

Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, articles, etc that will help me figure this one out..?

Thanks and HAppy NEw YEar...

Scott

That is a little sketchy at best...

Have you tried ::
Quote:
qmailctl stat
, then
Quote:
qmailctl restart

see if that re-sets your changes

Here is the funny part..

I cannot locate qmailctl on the box.
I used locate but came back with ZERO..

I did the qmail-qstat and there are like 500 messages in queue.

I have also ran a qmail queue-repair program but still nothing. its all just queueing up...

thanks

you should be able to just type
Quote:
qmailctl stat
at cmd line and get a result...

run
Quote:
updatedb
at cmd line to update your locate database...

check /var/logs/qmail/ logfiles and see if you have a runaway process, or errors in your install...

What tutorial did you use for install?
