RH 9 Sendmail and SA

k i'm at an impass. I have installed and running Sendmail on my linux RH 9 box. that's working as it should. Then I installed SpamAssassin, in hopes to get some sort of spam filter to work. currently I dont recieve enough email to tell but it seems that I might not have it configured right. When I try the sa-learn I get a mess of errors. i'm not sure if SA is running right or what.

The command i'm running is sa-learn --spam -D

first error "failed to load Net::DNS::Resolver: Can't locate Net/DNS.pm in @INC

then I get about 20 lines of Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::URIDNSBL=HASH(0x049e878) inhibited further callbacks


next I have the error

config: SpamAssassin failed to parse line, skipping: rewrite_subject

there's everal of these but it seems that whatever I put in local.cf it gives this error too.

Lastly it freezes at Syncing complete and sits there without returing to another prompt.

I ctrl C it and it errors with intrupted at /usr/bin/sa-learn line 415.

help please??!?!???

Guess you need to install NET :: DNS :: Resolver




Are you running SA thru perl modules? or from a tarball install?

I have always added it via tarball on my QMAIL installs. < www.qmailrocks.org for tutorial >, but you may have some SA PERL modules that need installed \ tweaked.

might be easier to run with an rpm based install?

I did install the install from CPAN promt using active perl. I tried to install the DNS resolver but for some reason or another it didnt' work.

something else I might not have mentioned in the first post is.
i'm running sendmail as my mailer with procmail forwarding straight through SA first.

UPDATE

I did find the NET:NS::Resolver on CPAN's website and was able to install that. seems to work now but i'm still wondering why it's not implementing my Local.cf

it's still giving me "SpamAssassin failed to parse line, skipping: XXX

X being each line in the local.cf
