i have a customer that has been told my thier parent company that they need secure email, how is this acceieved, i bowed out to another company before to handle this when i had a similar situation a while back. I simply added in a mx entry after they had set up the mail server. i was wondering is there a way to set up a mail server on my hosting account.
how would i secure it, it would seem like pgp keys would get old after a while. how much trouble would this be? is there a step by step guide out there, an ebook or something? i cant find anything that doesnt cost an arm and leg online. I need to know this week so i can determine whether i have to outsource this or i can do it myself. please help Ryan |

You could try SMTP_AUTH over SSL/STARTTLS with Sendmail and Cyrus SASL. This is for secure POP3 and IMAP mail as well if you are looking into a OpenSource based MTA.
I replied to another thread in here as well with the same link. Here's the best "HOWTO" i've seen on this (Im no expert on this subject, but this helped me a bunch. Good luck bro!!: SMTP_AUTH over SSL |

100% leak proof email
Check out jeftel.com, they give you a private email channel and a new .safe email extension (no more .com). This keeps your emails totally 'Leak Proof'… or you get your money back! It also protects your PC against spam and viruses. Nothing could be simpler or more effective.
