Sendmail: Allowing remote users to send email through our servers
Hi All,
Summary: Users working remotely from office can't send email through our servers. Error Message: Aug 12 11:12:41 server sendmail[12782]: i7CGCfu12782: to=<msteudel@domain.com>, delay=00:00:00, mailer=virthostmail, pri=30616, stat=queued Users are set to pop from mail.domain.com and use smtp mail.domain.com ... I tried setting it so they authenticate when using the outgoing server, but that didn't seem to work. I'm not sure where to start looking. I tried adding the clients remote ip to the access file allowing it to relay, hash it to the access.db but that didn't work ... Any ideas? Any more info? Thanks, Mark |

Also when I telnet from a remote machine directly into the server, I get the same problem.

relay-domains (usually located within /etc/mail) is most likely where your problem lies. Simply just add ipaddress in a list format to this file then restart sendmail. relay-domains does not generate a .db file, no makemap required. |

Thank you. If I want them to be able to send and recieve emails from anywhere, cafe's, hotels, etc. What's the best way to do that? I thought I had smtp authentication setup , but I dont' think it's working ocrrectly. MS |
