Sendmail limitations
Question, our email is slow at work and we are using Sendmail with LDAP. We just bought 2 servers, both Xeon 3 gigs with 200+ gigs of 15k scsi drives in raid 5 but still experiencing slowness. (Checking email is very slow, get timeout issues here and there but pinging the server you get under 10ms all the time)
Our main IS team has stated it is due to mailbox sizes being to large. With everyone in the office there is about 10 gigs of email on the server. Obviously it isnt a physical size issue, is there a limitation with Sendmail and size of mailboxes? I looked around and couldnt find anything on this specific topic. The biggest mailbox size is a little over 600 megs. Thanks Silly |

Have you check your ISP?

It is a LAN, there is no ISP except themselves.

a 600M size mailbox really sucks....
that 600M will be read from the HD AND THEN put in memory even if you just retrieve 1 email from it |
