Sendmail long pause
I'm getting 5-6 second pauses when sending mail via sendmail.
Just to test, I pipe 'df' output to sendmail: # df | /usr/sbin/sendmail -v me@mine.net me@mine.net... Connecting to [127.0.0.1] via relay... [ 5 second delay here] 220 xxx.xxx.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.13.0/8.12.9; Tue, 3 Aug 2004 21:53:08 -0400 (EDT) >>> EHLO xxx.xxx.com 250-xxx.xxx.com Hello localhost [127.0.0.1], pleased to meet you 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-PIPELINING 250-8BITMIME 250-SIZE 250-DSN 250-ETRN 250-DELIVERBY 250 HELP ... the message eventually is sent successfully, but any ideas why the initial delay? Thanks. |
