Sendmail troubles
Hi guys... I've always found the answer to my problems on these boards maybe you can help me now...
I have a Fedora Core 1 machine with Sendmail 8.13.1/8.12.11 Everything has been working fine then all of a sudden I stop getting email. I check the maillog and well you'll see. #tail -f maillog 19:32:18 ns sendmail[2908]: iB61WIiq002908: from=root, size=37, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200412060132.iB61WIiq002908@ns.0-gravity.com>, relay=root@localhost Dec 5 19:32:18 ns sendmail[2909]: iB61WIZw002909: from=<root@ns.0-gravity.com>, size=323, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200412060132.iB61WIiq002908@ns.0-gravity.com>, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=localhost [127.0.0.1] Dec 5 19:32:18 ns sendmail[2908]: iB61WIiq002908: to=jeremy, ctladdr=root (0/0), delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=30037, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (iB61WIZw002909 Message accepted for delivery) Dec 5 19:32:18 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WIZw002909: forward /home/jeremy/.forward.ns: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:18 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WIZw002909: forward /home/jeremy/.forward: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:29 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WIZw002909: to=<jeremy@ns.0-gravity.com>, ctladdr=<root@ns.0-gravity.com> (0/0), delay=00:00:11, xdelay=00:00:11, mailer=local, pri=30535, dsn=5.1.1, stat=User unknown Dec 5 19:32:29 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WIZw002909: forward /home/jeremy/.forward.ns: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:29 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WIZw002909: forward /home/jeremy/.forward: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:29 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WIZw002909: iB61WTZw002910: DSN: User unknown Dec 5 19:32:40 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: to=jeremy, delay=00:00:11, xdelay=00:00:11, mailer=local, pri=31559, dsn=5.1.1, stat=User unknown Dec 5 19:32:40 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: forward /home/jeremy/.forward.ns: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:40 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: forward /home/jeremy/.forward: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:40 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: forward /home/jeremy/.forward.ns: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:40 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: forward /home/jeremy/.forward: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:40 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: iB61WTZx002910: return to sender: User unknown Dec 5 19:32:45 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZx002910: to=jeremy, delay=00:00:05, xdelay=00:00:05, mailer=local, pri=32583, dsn=5.1.1, stat=User unknown Dec 5 19:32:45 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZx002910: forward /home/jeremy/.forward.ns: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:45 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZx002910: forward /home/jeremy/.forward: World writable directory Dec 5 19:32:45 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: Losing ./qfiB61WTZw002910: savemail panic Dec 5 19:32:45 ns sendmail[2910]: iB61WTZw002910: SYSERR(root): savemail: cannot save rejected email anywhere I then did #finger jeremy Login: jeremy Name: (null) Directory: /home/jeremy Shell: /bin/bash Never logged in. No mail. No Plan. not sure what is going on... other users can receive mail. jeremy is the address mail goes to for root incase that helps. Also made a work around that still lets me get mail. I made another user and pointed all mail for jeremy to that user in virtusertable and all works ok... would still like to get this working th way it was. |

I found the problem, but it still isn't working correctly. My procmailrc file would move spam that scored as spam to /dev/null. I took that section out and now mail works fine.
