Question Setting Exchange to delete mails automatically

Hello,

I am a bit of a NooB when it comes to email configuration, any help would be gratefully received.

For the website I administer we have an email box that collects reports. Currently we have over 57 thousand emails in this box! and we often have to sit there for long periods deleting them. I wish to configure our exchange server to automatically delete any emails in this box when they are older than a month, or delete the oldest mails when a limit of say 5000 is reached. Is this possible? If so how can I set this up? I have access to the exchange server, but as I say I am a NooB to email config. I was hoping to find something in Exchange System Manager like the Rules you find in Outlook.

The administrator is very busy, so it would be nice if I could get this going. I have also asked him to do this a number of times, but he always puts it off. Searching this forum and Google has been fruitless - so you are my last hope

Thanks

BuR

Hmm, maybe a new reciepient policy, mailbox manager settings, can manage the size or allowed limits of the mailbox in question via ESM.

Never tried it but it's worth a look.

Thanks Pidetz,

I will have a look at this. I know we do manage the size of the box vai ESM, I will ask the system administrator if he can have another look.

Thanks

BuR

Storage limits and delivery restrictions in AD might help too
