Small problme with SquirrelMail

Hi....I'm having a small problem with squirrelmail. I can get the login screen to appear but when I try to enter I get the error

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to localhost:143 in c:\appserv\www\squirrelmail\functions\imap_general.php on line 445

Error connecting to IMAP server: localhost.
10060 : A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

I thought it may be because the port was closed or something so I tried using a different port that I knew was open and got this error

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in c:\appserv\www\squirrelmail\functions\imap_general.php on line 460

Not sure where to start exactly to fix this....I tried looking through the imap_general.php, but didn't know if I should change anything. Would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.

I'm running Windows XP with AppServ 2.4.2 & SquirrelMail.

Sorry I didn't see you are running in Window XP .. this is for linux... sorry for wrong reply...

Hi
find out wether IMAP is installed it or not..??
command
--> rpm -qa | grep imap

if it not installed download imap and install it..

If it is installed than it may be disable ..

-->vi /etc/xinetd.d/imap

change distable YES to NO

reload xinetd
--> service xinetd reload

try

--> telnet localhost 143

if it works than try to login to your page..

Yeah.....I did have linux installed but didn't want to work all the well for me so I installed XP. Is there any IMAP Server's that will work with SquirrelMail and setup easily?
