Trying to understand e-mail header to control spam
I am trying to create generic filters on our web server to "better" filter spam. I just started saving the received part of the header in an effort to identifying a pattern.
My question is this: can I rely on the header to better filter spam? Here is an example of a spam header: Quote:
is the "from 64.72.66.114 (unverified [211.111.92.252])" portion a way to identify the spammers? Thanks, Evan

Post the FULL (not just the portion you believe is relevant) header here.

The answer is yes, although it means maintaing a long list of blacklisted domains/ips.
It is more feasable to do a google search and find out about the following: RBL - real time black lists and Spam Assasin
