Veritas BackupExec 9.1 and Exchange 2003
I have a potential issue: I may have to rebuild a server tonight which runs Exchange 2003. The problem is that I only have one Exchange server and cannot simply move the mailboxes to another server.
I run Veritas BackupExec 9.1, which backup the mailboxes daily (not the information store -- individual mailboxes). The question I have is this: if I have to recreate each user's account and mailbox, can I restore the email from the backup into the new mailboxes? Or will there be a SID conflict of some kind that would make Veritas fail on a restore?
Please don't reply with guesses -- only if you know for sure. I'm an experienced systems administrator, but I'm not too sure about this one and I don't want to find out the hard way...
