W2k3:POP3 not receiving, but SMTP fine
I have Win2k3, and using its pop3 and smtp services.
It seems to me everything is setup right. But when I receive email from another PC (outlook express 6 in Win XP), it reminds me to input password. After I did it, the same pop-up window comes up again reminding me to input username and password. Again and again. After I cancel it, it gives the following error: There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'mail.mydomain.com', Server: 'pop3.mydomain.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Logon Failure', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 I checked my MX records, and it is fine. Anybody has any idea what it is the problem? Thanks a lot. |

Perhaps its the domain name
We had the same problem. When we changed our domain from one with 3 elements (mail.mydomain.com) to one with 2 elements (mydomain.com) AND used the full email address for the user(user@mydomain.com), then it worked like a charm.
