Windows 2003 SMTP Setup Relay Problem
Hi,
I have Windows 2003 on my server. For some reason, I cannot set up to send mail to my opt in list without having the relay button checked with my own IP address as the only relay to mail through! Otherwise I cannot logon with my username and password in my email software without this being checked. I can e-mail just fine, but SPAMCOP has my server listed as an open relay (which it is not) because all headers say relayed from. It is just the setting in Windows that is making it look like a relay. If anyone has an answer, PLEASE let me know. I would really appreciate it! Please email me at bx135@hotmail.com |

I would suggest running Relaytest Pro to check if you are in fact relaying or not. Otherwise I don't think you would be blacklisted.

You don't need anything in the relay section. Just make sure under Access | Authentication that you have Anonymous Access and Basic Authentication selected. Then in the mail client, select Use Authentication for Outgoing Mail. For username use 'username', instead of the incoming username that uses 'username@yourdomain.com)
