    How to set up locally hosted email server using NAT

    Dear All,

    am facing a very tense situation and cant find an answer on the internet. I am trying to setup a mail server, Smartermail specifically.

    I have NAT running and have done port forwarding in my router as well.

    public ip: 115.*.*.* ----> private ip: 10.10.1.19

    domain name: abc.com
    mail server name: mail.abc.com

    i entered following entries in my DNS:

    A mail.abc.com --------> 10.10.1.19
    MX mail.abc.com ------> 10.10.1.19
    reverse DNS 10.10.1.19 ------> mail.abc.com

    i can send email within the domain but i cannot send or receive emails from the internet.

    i have done the port forwarding part in my router and everything is ok. Can any one tell me what entries do i need to enter in DNS to send receive emails.

    ??? please help??

    Your DNS entries need to contain your public IP.

    You should change your internet connection settings.
