RE:

I have Apache on and the PHP module, and didn't that to configure anthing to serve up WML or .wbmp files.

I had a little trouble with ISS but Apache worked straight out the box / download directory

What are you using to view the WAP page?

wml

I don't think you need to add MIME , .wbmp to apache to load the images, I have been able to do this without.
use http://www.teraflops.com/wbmp to convert your image to wbmp.
but if you need to add MIME to apache
You have to add the folowing line in either
htacess file but you must place it into the directory where pages are kept or in httpd.conf file if you can access the apache server.

# For wml embedded graphics.
Addtype image/vnd.wap.wbmp .wbmp

hope this is helpfull
