    Mobile line of code

    Hi all,

    Okay, I admit, I'm a newbee.

Here's my question. I had heard that it is possible to make a conventional (.com, .net, etc) website mobile compatible by putting a line of code in the <head> section of the source code. Is that true? Can anyone give me that line of code?

Not at all. Sure, you can add a meta tag that says the site is mobile compatible, but nothing is going to automatically convert your site to work well on mobile devices. Most of today's smartphones will do a pretty decent job of rendering conventional sites, but the existence of a particular meta tag has zero impact on that. Providing a good mobile site usually requires a substantial redesign of the site's interface, because touch interfaces are fundamentally different from keyboard/mouse interfaces and UIs that work well for one often do not work well for the other.
