I got my new A7N8X-E Deluxe mother board today, just finished installing it, but I'm not getting any video what so ever.
I'm using an ati radeon 9700 pro, 512mb of ram and an athlon xp 2600+ cpu. I also tried a radeon 9800 pro, just incase, also no video. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Thanks. |

Same problem
Quote:
I'm having exactly the same problem. First off, I had to RMA my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe from newegg twice. This one, my third, works, but there is no video. Here's the hardware list: Motherboard: Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Processor: Athlon 2500+ (Barton) Ram: Corsair Dual Channel PC3200 1Gig(512MBx2) Video Card: Radeon 9600 SE AGP 128MB HD: Western Digital IDE 120G I know the video card works, because I switched it out and I'm using it right now. The hard drive hasn't been cleared...I know I will probably have to reformat sometime, but I should still reach BIOS and have a video signal. I can't really say for sure if I get past POST b/c I get the common "boot failed due to cpu overclocking"(this is a boxed-unused processor from newegg). I know that Asus put out a new BIOS that fixes this error, but I can't flash my board because I can't see anything... I'm hoping that details from my problem(which seems to be the same) will help us both. |

I tried a GF4 MX440 SE 64MB SDR in my friends A7N8X deluxe and it would not take (not compat.) and there is a LED on motherboard that will indicate it's dislike for video card by turing red not green. He put back his GF2 MX400 SE and it worked fine. Do you get the red led? I am fairly certain he has same/similiar board. I built another A7N8X deluxe for a different person and put in a cheapy card (Sapphire 9200 SE 128DDR) and it worked fine. Only thing I could think is get hands on an old/cheap card to test, and if that comes up check BIOS AGP volt, etc. settings to see if maybe a default BIOS setting is screwing card.
