Adding HD With XP Home OS To New P-4 Motherboard
I currently have a P-III motherboard which I think has gone bad. Rather than replacing the motherboard with another P-III, I am considering buying a ATX midtower case, P-4 motherboard, 2.6 P-4 CPU and 512mb, and adding a 64 or 128 AGP video card. I want to use my current 80G ATA HD, which already has WinXP Home, and all of the USB drivers for my HP LaserJet 3330 & Photosmart 6540 printers and Microsoft wireless keyboard & mouse. I will install my current NEC 8X DVD burner & Yamaha CD burner. Of course, after the first boot-up, I will then uninstall the drivers for my PCI video card which I installed for the P-III motherboard. Are there any problems which I will encounter which will prevent this setup from functioning properly? Before anyone suggests buying a new PC instead, I am going this route because the above will eventually become my secondary PC. I plan to purchase a new PC with A BTX motherboard shortly.
