AGP slot on new motherboard
I'm looking at purchasing a mother board and under the details it says the agp speed is 8x.
Im not sure but i'm fairly certain teh video card i have for it isn't a 8x card but i don't to fry it trying to put it in. I normally would just asume that it would work but on the picture of themother board there seems to be a warning label ontop of the agp slot which is kind of scaring me away from the board. if you want to have look go to: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=634804&Tab=1&NoMapp=0 thanks for the help. Some boards auto-switch to accept the older cards but not all of them. My motherboard (Gigabyte 7VA) only takes 8x AGP cards and will not take slower speed cards.
Just had a look in the manual and it says it supports 4x and 8x AGP. |
