Another PC that wont boot
Gigabyte GA 965P DQ6 LGA MB
Intel Core DUo E6300 2 X 1GB corsair XMS Antec 650W PSU I just built this system and its about a week old. It ran like a champ at first but I noticed when I plugged a usb device, the computer would alert me about a power surge in the usb port. I ignored it. I was trying to shut the computer down and it wont so I pressed the power button to force shutdown. When I restart it, it powers up and shuts down repeatedly and never gets to boot. I cleared the cmos once to load default settings but when I restarted the computer, it did the same thing. It powers up and shuts down. Which one's the culprit? PSU or MB? No lights and no beeps from the MB btw. Thanks for your help guys. |

Hi sliva001 and welcome to Dev Shed.
Can you get into the BIOS ? Does it begin to load the OS before it reboots ? Have you unplugged the USB device ?

Does sound like a CPU problem. Try removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then replacing and also remove and re-seat the CPU and then try and boot the machine.
