Asrock K7S41GX wont Boot

well I just bought a new:

motherboard: Asrock K7S41GX
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Power Supply: Q-TEC PSU 350W
Memory: DANE-ELEC 215 MB DIMM DDR333 PC2700

connected the whole bunch together in an ATX case and pushed the power button.. all the leds start burning, cpu cooler starts cooling but nothin starts booting, no beep either..

ive already spend about 2 hours messing with this ****, changing memory slots, playing with jumpers, changing processors.. nothing works and im out of ideas

please.. if anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it!!

(I know the mobo aint really any good but it SHOULD work =\ its brand new for crying out loud :'()

Is there a video card in the system? No mobo will boot without RAM, CPU, and video. If that's all there, then my thoughts would lean toward your mobo not liking the RAM you installed in it. Most vendors have a list of tested and certified RAM to be used in their boards and some generic RAM is just not good enough; and it balks when you try to boot with it.

the mobo has an onboard video card, I tried using both the onboard card and my own agp card, but neither of them worked.

im also suspicious about the RAM, nothing about tested RAM in the manual though. will check Asrock's website in a min and im calling the store I bought it from to check what the problem might be.

I bought the RAM from another store then the mobo, since it was cheaper there (im not rich ) even showed the mobo I bought to the salesman and he said it should work.. guess not =\

I'll post if anything changes, thanks for ur help so far

Same thing happened to me...

last week as a matter of fact. Computer would power up but no post no display. Turned out one of the memory bays was bad, after switching to the other it posted fine and I installed XP pro in about 20 minutes. If you are using two DIMM's try just using one and if it doesn't work switch to another memory slot.

Let me know
