asus a7n8x-e deluxe memory question

Right now I have 2x512mb pc3200 in. If I buy a 1GB pc3200, could I put that into the third memory slot for a total of 2gb of memory?

Is there anything special about the third memory slot? I've read in the past that on some motherboards it can't be used normally.

According to the manual, I can have all three filled with dual-channel memory, but not single-channel. I'm not quite sure what this means. I have copies of the pages for you to view if you could possibly help me out. Thanks.

If that's all the book has to say about memory, then you should be fine... I'd run the two 512s in slots 2&3 and put the Gig DIMM in slot 1
Comments on this post
bluedragon agrees: Yes, normally the larger RAM stick first. (eg 1GB, then 512MB, then 256MB)
