asus a7n8x-e strange problem

Hi all,

I just bought this new board today. I moved over my new system onto this board and am having some issues. When I power up the screen clicks like its about to display the startup screen but doesn't, I also get no beeps. The strange part is that about 6-7 seconds after powering on, the computer powers off all on its own. I have an almost brand new antec 350w power supply. My system specs are this..

AMD 2000+
512 megs DDR
GeForce FX 5700LE

I moved back to my old motherboard for the fun of it and everything worked fine. Any help provided would be appreciated! Thanks.

do you get a bios screen?

I do not get a bios screen. Though one instance when I tried starting it up I did see it very briefly, a small fraction of a second.

Edit:
For good measure I switched back to my old mb to make sure I didn't wreck the cpu when mounting the fan and everything starts up fine..

i bought a new mobo the asus a7n8x and i installed it into my new case and took all the parts from my old comp but it wont start up the light comes on on the mobo but i cannot hear any beeps or the screen shows nothing but it looks like the fan is about to start but then it doesnt and it just sits the is have a amd 2400+ barton geforcefx 5600 ultra and a 300w power supply with a 512 and a 256 ram can you help me i have reseted the cmos and made sure i had the power button in the right spot but when i press it it still wot start

did you put the cpu cooling on it's right place
it only works one way
try to turn it the other way around

i have an asus a7n8x-e deluxe.
on this board i have put a gaming card
geforce3 ti 200. and i always have stripes within some of the programs and even when i'm surfing on the internet.
but not when i'm playing a game.
i've already have try it with an other card and it is still the same.
